Denial – Anger – Bargaining – Depression – Acceptance (but mostly Acceptance!)

I’ve been accepted into Jen’Jidai and it makes me very happy. Being pretty busy lately I’ve doing my best to get involved and to meet and greet my new guildies.
I’ve also started to rp.
This rp has only taken the form of writing my bio but I’ve recieved encouraging responses so far. It has been much easier to create the story and allow other readers to envision me as a tank and I hope to continue my story with the same fervor that I’ve started it.
The only downside of this guild is that it is an east coast guild . Well not a downside for them, more of a downside for me. Having been in a west coast guild previously my work schedule didn’t matter as much since most events didn’t start til 9 EST anyway.
Not so much for Jen’Jidai.
I’m trying to make sure that I can make the meetings. I was able to get to the bounty hunter meeting, which was very informative, but I missed out on the mandatory meet and greet due to premade plans that I couldn’t miss. I’m not sure how attendance is counted or how to make the most effective use of my limited time. As of now I’m trying to stay active with my Bio and the main guild history RP thread. I’ve also stay in vent as much as I am able and have gotten to know a few members better through playing the Aion beta with them.
All in all the guild looks great, I’m going to try to be an avid member and find my niche.
SW:TOR Tanking speculation

Being that I love tanking I’be been trying to dig up some tanking info on The Old Republic. They haven’t confirmed a “Holy Trinity” style of play yet but they have said that there would be raids and I find it difficult to have a raid without someone to take the serious hits.
Three classes have been revealed so far: The Trooper, The Bounty Hunter and the Smuggler. Its safe to assume that Both sides will have a Force sensitive class and that the Empire side will have a smuggler equivalent (Likely an Assassin/Rogue). In less they intend to give The Trooper and Bounty hunters Stun Batons/Vibroblades and a Shield, I can’t picture any other class being a tank other than the Force user. I picture a Jedi/Sith tank using a two-handed grip on their Lightsaber and having decent crowd control.
Then again these could just be my hopes coming though.
To see the general feeling on Tanking and traditional class roles I hit up the Official forums, which turns out to be rather depressing.
Traditional anything isn’t really whats being shouted from the loudest posters. A lot of people seem to want Bioware to come up with a magical solution to the problems that they don’t like in the games past.
I’ll have to keep hoping that I’ll get to tank and we’ll see what happens. I hope more than anything that Bioware sticks to their guns, produces the game their way and doesn’t release it until it is ready (EA be damned).
The Older Republic

Of all the news coming out of the E3 one video garnered my undivided attention. Bioware has released a Video for Star Wars: The Old Republic called Decieved.
It has been a long time since I’ve anticipated an MMO release, but I can’t wait for SW:TOR. I had been browsing the forums for information and I’ve noticed quite a few guilds forming up. I was writing up an application to dark side guild named Animosity when a friend of mine, Witchcraft, starting telling me about Jin’Jidai.

Jin’Jidai looks to be a harcore PvE,PvP and Rp guild, they have a great website and the forums seem to have a great friendly feeling to them. I copied down the application immediately and took my time filling it out. I posted my app that night and was given an interview time for tuesday. I think this bodes well for the guild, they genuinely care about who they accept.
My Interview Tuesday went well as far as I know, they asked a lot of good questions. I haven’t heard back from them yet but I believe the interview went well. I’ll be happy if they accept me.
Hello Old Friend

Warhammer has been an interesting experience. I have two views right now, the first being the game at launch and the second view seems to be in a pre patch lul the game is experiencing now.
When I initially re-signed up there were quite a few changes. The game has gone through 2 patches (Currently at 1.2) and some server merges. I logged in and discovered that many of my characters where named with with Xs after them, for example Squirrelxx and justdoitx. I believe that Xs where added after a server merge and showed that the server had had characters with those names.
My 15 Disciple of Khaine and 15 Zealot as well as a small number of alts were all on a server called vortex. I dove right in and figured the server changes wouldn’t really affect my game play.
I was wrong.
I played my DoK From 15 to 17 without so much as seeing another soul at a Public Quest and was able to join 1 to 2 scenarios at most. Discouraged by the lack of players of my level on the server I hit up some Warhammer sites to try to find a better one. The Warhammer Alliance Forum was a site I remember from before the game was even released and was still popular upon release due to Warhammer Online choosing not to release any official forums. It is still a pretty good source of information and only contains a fraction of the whining that the official servers have.
Quite a few of the informative posters seemed to be from Dark Crag so i gave it a shot despite it being Open RvR. I’ve rolled a Black Orc named Choppastompa and I’ve been having some fun there. There are quite a few players leveling there and the ORVR isn’t really as bitter/backbiting/grief ridden as wow was. Its mostly live and let live.
My Black Orc is now 13 and I’ll continue to push forward to reach a level where i can do some mass RvR, which is what led me to the game in the first place.
Drifting
Well I’m a little lost at the moment. I have a tendancy to over do things and I repeated the old mistakes that burned me out in the burning crusade.
A month ago it ocurred to me after 3 hours of whipes on heroic mimiron that I wasn’t having fun any more and that I hadn’t had any for a few weeks. Ulduar is not a fix for what I was feeling and I think I just needed a break from the same old, same old.
I’ve finally started back up gaming again last week, a buddy picked me up a copy of fallout 3. Its interesting playing an rpg that isn’t an mmo. I can just go through it and enjoy the quests and enviroment. The story line is super engaging and the biggest thing i’ve noticed is its about constant content.
Wow was very focused on the endgame, you needed to get to max level then started your grind with gear, rep and guildies. Leveling is enjoyable and frankly I’d forgotten what it was like.
I believe another issue that burned me out was keeping up with the joneses. I always felt a need to keep up with my guildies and to keep measuring my progress by the most hardcore people I knew. In Fallout 3 there is no one else to compare myself to, I play when I want and can really play a game on my terms (Which is how it was meant to be I suppose).
I’m still playing Fallout 3 but i’ve also picked up Atlantica and have even resubbed to Warhammer online to see how they have improved the game. Tobald keeps talking about Luminary so I might add that to my plate as well.
It should be interesting to see how it all turns out.
